Rohit helps MI to secure 2 points: Who will qualify for Play offs? Can MI and LSG still qualify?

Rohit Sharma played a solid knock and helped Mumbai Indians to win a game against LSG and most importantly secured 2 points. Rohit Sharma has played an innings of 84 runs in just 44 balls with a strike rate of 190.91. Rohit came back into the team after curing his injury and made a solid comeback. Rohit Sharma looked in a prime touch and smashed boundaries and sixes all over the ground.

Rohit Sharma is the most successful captain of IPL along with MS Dhoni and won 5 IPL titles for Mumbai Indians. MI has appointed Hardik Pandya as a Captain and after that team is not performing well. This year it looks impossible for team MI to cross qualification mark.

MI chances for qualification:

Mumbai Indians has played 10 matches, and they have only 6 points. MI has to play 4 more games and if they will win all the remaining four matches then they will get 8 more points. So, total they will have 14 points after 14 games. So, there are no chances for MI to get qualify for play offs.

Hardik Pandya is a great all-rounder, but he is failed miserably to lead the team. Hardik Pandya has not performed well with bowl and bat as well. Hardik was not well and Surya Kumar Yadav has stepped as a Captain and won the important toss and elected to bowl first.

LSG Batting:

LSG has batted first and scored 228 runs. Nicholas Pooran has scored 63 runs in just 21 balls with a strike rate of 300 and smashed 8 sixes. Mitchell Marsh has also given a solid start and scored 44 runs in just 25 balls with a strike rate of 176. Josh Inglis has started well but not able to convert his start into a big run and he scored only 13 runs in 5 balls. Markram has scored 31 runs and Himmat Singh has scored 40 runs.

Mumbai Bowling:

Raghu Sharma has made a solid debut and took 1 wicket by just giving 36 runs in 4 overs. Jasprit Bumrah is also not in a great form as he has given 45 runs in 4 overs. Corbin Bosch has taken 2 wickets by giving 20 runs in 2 overs. He took 2 important wickets in just one over. He took the most important wicket of Pooran who was in absolute form. Deepak Chahar has given 43 runs in just 4 overs, but he has bowled brilliantly in death overs.

Mumbai Batting:

Mumbai Indians made a great start, and both the opener played great knock in power play and continue their partnership till 10.5 overs where Ryan Rickelton lost his wicket. They both have made a partnership of 143 runs in just 65 balls. Ryan has scored 83 runs in just 32 balls with a strike rate of 259.38 and smashed 8 giant sixes. Naman Dhir has scored 23 runs in just 12 balls and Will Jacks has scored a winning run.

LSG Bowling:

LSG Bowlers have given lots of runs in the first 10 overs and not taken a single wicket. Shami has given 53 runs in just 4 overs and took only 1 wicket. Mohsin Khan a star player of last game has given 47 runs in 4 overs and took only 1 wicket. Avesh Khan has given highest 56 runs in just 3.4 overs. Prince Yadav has bowled well and given only 24 runs in just 3 overs but not able to take any wicket. Manimaran Siddharth has took 2 wickets but given 47 runs in just 4 overs.

LSG Chances of qualification:

LSG has played 9 matches and won only 2 games and have 4 points on table. LSG has to play more 5 games and if they will win all remaining 5 games then they will have total 14 points after 14 matches same as Mumbai Indians. So, there are no chances for team LSG to get qualify for play offs.

Team LSG and team MI both have lost their chances of qualification for play offs.

Which teams are likely to get qualify?

Team Punjab Kings, RCB, SRH and Gujarat Titans look quite strong to get qualify for play offs. It will be strong competition for the fourth number as Team Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings all three have a chance to get qualify. It will be interesting to see which 4 teams will qualify for play offs.
