Rohit Sharma has last seen in IPL. Rohit is a senior player in a team and his role becomes more important in the absense of Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli is absent himself due to injury. Rohit is looking forward for the 2027 ODI World Cup. India lost the final game against Australia in the One-Day World Cup.
Rohit is seen practicing batting and catching in the practice session. Rohit has to play a big role as a senior player as Virat Kohli will not be a part of team for the series against team Afghanistan.
Rohit has a dream to win the ODI World Cup. He fails in his captainship to win the title, but he wants to win the World Cup before taking a retirement.
India will play total 3 ODI matches against team Afghanistan. First match will be at Dharamsala, second match will be at Lucknow, and last match will be held at Chennai.
ODI starts on June 13 and finishes on June 20, 2026. Matches will be start at 01:30 PM IST.
India Probable 11:
(1) Shubman Gill (Captain):
Shubman Gill is ready to lead the team. He has shown his class performance in the test match and in IPL. He is ready to continue his form in ODI as well.
(2) Rohit Sharma:
India’s greatest ODI Opener and World’s class batsman is ready to roar in this series and looking forward for the ODI World Cup.
(3) Yashasvi Jaiswal:
Jaiswal has not scored big runs in only test against Afghanistan but ready to score big runs in One-day series.
(4) Shreyas Iyer:
Shreyas Iyer has been selected as T20 Captain. He had a great IPL 2026. He is in a great touch and ready to contribute for team success.
(5) K L Rahul:
Rahul has scored 100 runs in the test match. He is most reliable player in a team. He will also be a wicket keeper in the ODI Series.
(6) Nitish Kumar Reddy:
Nitish Kumar Reddy is an all-rounder batsman. Nitish has to play solid knock and also need to take wickets in the absence of Hardik Pandya. Hardik will not be a part of ODI due to injury.
(7) Washington Sundar:
He is most underrated player. He is an all-rounder and had a great IPL Season. He needs to score big runs to cement his place in ODI team.
(8) Arshdeep Singh:
Arshdeep Singh had a not great IPL and gave so many runs especially Wide runs. He needs to focus on his game. He is a great bowler and need to play a senior role in absence of Jasprit Bumrah and Siraj.
(9) Prince Yadav:
Prince Yadav had a great IPL season 2026. He has impressed with his great bowling line up and wicket taking ability.
(10) Kuldeep Yadav:
Kuldeep Yadav is a senior spin bowler in a squad. He is known for his wicket taking ability especially in the middle overs.
(11) Prasidh Krishna:
Prasidh Krishana bowled brilliantly in IPL and in only test against Afghanistan. He is in a great form.
It will be interesting to see how India will play against Afghanistan in absence of Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Jaspreet Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.
Indian team coach Gautam Gambhir and Captain Shubman Gill both are in planning to make a final team for ODI World Cup 2027.
