In his speech he discussed that dying for the nation is just not patriotism but living for the nation and following the duties in the interest of nation is also a patriotism.
If a person is following religiously all the duties properly it will definitely lead to the progress of their nation.
In the times of global crisis, one has to prioritize their responsibilities towards the nation and take few promises and follow that promises with dedication and commitment.
He urges citizens of India to use electric vehicle instead of petrol/diesel vehicle as globally the prices of oil and diesels are at highest and we have to make religious efforts to save national currency, as by overuse of oils will disturb the foreign exchange reserves.
It is requested to use public transport specially metros and if urgent and using cars, one should opt for car pool options.
For goods delivery one should make use of railways as it is running by the use of electricity which will limit the use of petrol and diesel.
He also urged people to support the government in saving the foreign currency and show the true patriotism during the global crisis.
Explore India in vacation and avoid visiting foreign trips and he also mentioned today it has become a fashion/trend doing marriages abroad, so he urges people to do destination marriages in India.

We will explore all the 7 Appeals made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Here are the 7 important appeals made by Narendra Modi:
1. Avoid Buying Gold for One Year:
In his speech Prime Minister urges citizens to avoid purchasing gold for the next one year.
During the global economic stress due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, this appeal is to not put any kind of pressure on foreign exchange reserves.
India is considered as one of the world’s largest importer of gold and if people purchase gold unnecessary in excessive it can have led to pressure on foreign exchange reserve.
As the global economic stress in ongoing, government wants to reduce import expenditure.
Even by limiting gold import will definitely lower the burden of foreign exchange and hence can help India’s trade balance.
In India, buying gold is a tradition and culture in Indian Weddings, it’s really a big question and concern for the government on how to save national financial reserves.
Gold prices are already at a high price and buying more gold directly caused foreign exchange, so it is better not to buy any gold for at least one year.
2. If Possible, Prioritize Work-from-Home:
Honorable Narendra Modi urges citizens to prioritize Work-from-Home. He said that at the time of corona, we already opted for work from home, and it became our habit.
So now at the time of global crisis, if possible, one should revive the Work-from-Home practices again.
At that time, we used to do:
- online meetings,
- virtual conferences and
- remote work so again, companies are encouraged to support the government by opting to Work from Home practices.
This will definitely lower the consumption of fuel by avoiding travelling. By avoiding travelling and business travels will definitely support the government in saving the fuel hence foreign exchange reserves.
During Corona, everyone has started working from home and people even used to with terms of work-from-home. If people started working from home, then there will be a huge saving of petrol which helps a lot.
3. Restrained or cutting down the Use of Cooking Oil:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also urged citizens to reduce the consumption of cooking oil. By taking into consideration the current global situation every citizen of India should reduce the consumption of cooking oil.
It is also beneficial for us if we consume oil in a moderation. People of India should take moral responsibility as it is in the national interest.

Nowadays each is person is having their own vehicle. India is facing heavy traffic issues as people use their own vehicle for travelling instead of using public transport.
If the current scenario will continue in global, then there are high chances that petrol prices will increase heavily. It is prudent to take public transport, car pool and to adopt other options which helps our nation.

Go for local products instead of foreign branded products. It is also beneficial in vocal for local.
Narendra Modi wants nation to stop or to limit the import of foreign products and also to control in buying products which directly impacts foreign exchange.
India has not raised any prices of petrol or diesel, and India is having stock of Petrol, oil and natural Gas. There is no question of scarcity, but it is advisable to control the consumption of Petrol and related items.
If there will be no control, then there are high chances that there will be hike in price of Petrol.
If Petrol prices will be increased then all the products like vegetables, milk and all the essential products prices will automatically increase as transportation expenses will be increased.
Middle class and Poor class will be highly affected. Narendra Modi has warned the whole country before it gets too late. Now, it is responsibility of every citizen of India to use the resources in a prudent manner.
