Sanju Samson has scored 89 runs in just 46 balls and hit 8 sixes while Jasprit Bumrah took 4 important wickets by just giving 15 runs only. Sanju declared as Player of the match and Jasprit Bumrah declared as Player of the tournament.
Sanju Samson heroic innings:
Sanju Samson has scored 89 runs in Semi Final game and also scored 89 runs in Final game. New Zealand won the toss and they opted to bowl first. India though lost the toss, but Sanju and Abhishek have given solid start and India looked strong from the very first ball due to powerful knock of Sanju Samson.
Sanju Samson has scored total 321 runs in just 5 innings. Sanju has scored 97 runs not out against West Indies in quarter final game. He has scored 89 runs in semifinal against team England. In final game again he shown his true potential and scored 89 runs in pressure game of final match.
Sanju Samson was not a part of the team in the beginning of the tournament, but failure of Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Verma helped Sanju Samson as team has changed the batting line up and Sanju included into the team. Axar Patel took wickets when India was under pressure and helped team India either by taking wickets or by taking outstanding catches.
Axar Patel took important catch of Mitchell Marsh in 2024 World Cup which turned the game in favor of team India at the same way he took the catch of Harry Brook in Semi Final game in 2026.
Team management was always in doubt in selection of Axar Patel but every time he has proved why he is needed in the team. Axar Patel took 11 wickets in ICC T20 World Cup. He has played his role of Vice Captain by taking important wickets and most important catches. You cannot win matches if you dropped catches. Axar has proved this by taking impossible catches.
Team India breaks 3 Jinx:
No team has won back-to-back T20 World Cup. No host team has won ICC tournament and India never won final in Narendra Modi Stadium. But this time India has broken all the jinx and became the first team who host the World cup and won back-to-back ICC tournaments in Narendra Modi Stadium.
Before this tournament there were total 3 jinx on team India:
- Defending team never won back-to-back titles.
- A host country never won any ICC Tournaments.
- India never won final game in Narendra Modi Stadium.
Surya Kumar Yadav and his team have broken all the jinx and proved that if a team is in a good touch and dressing room environment is good then you can win against any team.
